I think almost everyone is familiar with the anime/manga Death Note, and I admit that I became more fan of this manga when it was published as a movie wherein the story and characters are no longer just an imagination.

Miwako Sakurada is one of my favorite characters in Paradise Kiss. By the way who doesn't know this manga or movie???

This story fascinates me and made me want to be a model and a fashion designer too! But anyway for the sake of the people who doesn't know about this manga here's a plot summary: Yukari is a typical high-school student who listens to her parents and attends school everyday. As she starts to question her way of life, she encounters a group of fashion design students who has a clothing label known as "Paradise Kiss". The group needs to find a model to showcase their designs in an up-coming fashion show and decides to pick Yukari instead. Initially, Yukari was reluctant to be associated with this seemingly eccentric group, but eventually, she realises that they are really nice people. Furthermore, their passion and enthusiasm to follow their ideals and dreams make Yukari realise that she has not been enjoying her life and this motivated her to pursue her own dreams.

Because every woman has dream doll...

D.O.D Calla is a BDJ Doll (Ball Jointed Doll) which is very expensive and I can't afford to have, simply because I'm just damn poor! Well I dream to have one BDJ in the future. Wish list!

Hopefully, I could be able to buy one this year, or... somebody will have a heart to donate one that would be very much appreciated!

I used this costume last Vocafusion 2012 at SMX. The Convention Center has good facilities, I and my friend/photographer needed to shoot away from the main event because of congestion. Anyway that's what photographers usually do, kidnapping cosplayers!!! haha kidding!

    My Costume

D.O.D Calla has different styles of dress, but this one will do.

The costume has 3parts: Cape - I call it "magician cape" XD, then the inner part which is the dress like is divided into two (top and skirt) which way better because it fits well to me. Petticoat - the black underneath the skirt, it is very important to make the skirt "ballooned"

Cosplay Tips:  act/pose like a doll
Usually dolls don't show their teeth when smiling .
For doll look - youtube make-up tutorials are a big help

    Be confident!

I really had a hard time doing this shot! But it worth the effort right? :)

So it was my second time to go on a photo shoot, I and my friend/photographer think of a theme that is not too common so we end up having our second photo shoot in an Ice Skating Rink at Mall of Asia.
Here are the rates for weekdays and weekends:

    Open Skating/Unlimited
    Assist Program
    P150/30 minutes
    P150/30 minutes
"To have an ice skating theme shoot will never easy"

I think this photo shoot was one of the hardest photo shoot that we did. It was never easy because it's my first time to do ice skating. So we need to practice first before we conduct our "shoot."

Since it was my first time, I really felt nervous, one reason is, I don't know if I could be able to move even for an inch. It felt like a roller coaster, a butterfly in my stomach. I also felt like I can't do it! But thanks to my mom for giving us a rubber shoes with 4 wheels way back in grade school.

First timer me, I wish the rink has safety hand rails! But anyway, not having anything to hold on, keeps me standing on my own. I don't have any choice but to move forward and that's how I learned.

For a first timer like me, to be able to learn, you should learn to trust yourself first. Always think that if others can do it, then there is no reason for you to be excused. Motivate yourself every time, If you fall, just stand up, then continue. I remember that I fell for 7 times, But despite that I didn't stop and continue to learn even if it was painful.

It was an achievement to learn how to skate and I'm soooo happy because of that.

Yes, so this is it pansit! For assurance, we asked for the management's permission first, we said that this shoot is for my project or personal use, and not for commercial use. Then it's ok with them. More photos of our shoot here. (just leached it from my friend's album)

  • My very first Cosplay :)  as Yami or Golden Darkness from To Love Ru

Pinoy Otaku Encore 2011 was the very first event that I officially cosplay :) A month after I decided to become a cosplayer too.

It's quite difficult to choose which character to cosplay, there are lots of wonderful character but I chose Yami for my first cosplay. I found the character interesting. She's an assassin, she can transform her hands into a deadly weapon. I chose her because this silent type of person has full of mystery, there's something in her that needs to be brought up.

As a beginner,  I have to make sure that I could portray the character well. For my preparations, I've watched To Love Ru series and remember some of her stunts and actions.

The beginning of everything. Most of the beginners always thought that if you're wearing a costume, photographers come, approach you, then that's it! Well this is a NO NO NO!

During the con, I met a new friend. She thought me how should I suppose to portray the character. She noticed that I keep on smiling when in fact the character I portraying is not a cheerful girl. She told me that it will look more natural if I will not smile, and have a straight face.

Since it was my first time, I joined the contest because I thought that every cosplayer should register on the competition. Another NO NO NO. Because everyone could attend the event and wear their costumes without registering on the competition. The good part was the catwalk is a nice experience to have.

Let's talk how my costume is done

    Materials I used:
    Leatherette Cloth
    Glue Sticks

I personally went to Divisoria to buy all the materials that used. It was my first time to buy cloth, I don't even know what's the best cloth to use for this kind of costume, so what I did was to trust my instinct LOLS. I chose the cloth by just touching and checking it's texture and which I think is the best to use. I have my costume done by a tailor.

Petticoat was use to harden the neck part because I want it to be accurate, I made the "cape" for this costume. I used linolium instead of cloth, linolium will look more accurate, for it is not too hard nor too soft.

First step: I drew lines on the linolium and cut it. I used glue stick to attach the linolium on the garter then added the belt buckles so I could connect both sides in the middle.

Second: I drew triangles on the linolium and fold it. Attach a hairpin on each triangle so you could clip it on your wig. Instant neko ears! :)

Third: I measured my legs part for the leg straps. *Be careful when using the glue gun!!

Always imagine how your costume will look like by sketching it on the paper or use your imagination!

"If you can dream it, you can do it!"

  • Today I'm going to review about these soo cute Cardcaptor Sakura contact lens cases.

I would like to commend the contact lens packaging as they have The Clow and Sakura titles like what you can see on the original books on the movie. The packaging make the lens cases cooler for giving it realistic book appearance. The printing are good and have removable plastic cover to protect the acrylic glass and design from scratches.

  • After few months of hiatus I finally decided to go back to blogging and continue what my heart whispers, and that is to inspire people with my kawaii-lolita fashion and of course cosplaying!

I am really having a hard time balancing my schedule with my work, business, and personal goals. Working and managing a business will never be that easy one, they eat most of your time that you forget the things that you want to do for yourself. Though work and business is doing good and fulfilling, I always have that feeling of frustration every time I see a blogger with my same interests.
